The Eugie Foster Memorial Award for Short Fiction (or Eugie Award) celebrates the best in innovative fiction. This annual award is presented at Dragon Con, the nation’s largest fan-run convention.
Each year I design and create the award plaque and pins given to the winner and finalists. It is one of my favorite projects to work on and I am honored to be invited to contribute.
Remember When You Could Fly?
This was a three-dimensional mixed media piece created for Burlesque Imitates Art: Hiraeth. I designed it to accompany a performance by Nuri Infuri. The intention was to evoke a sense of longing for something lost. Our collaboration focused on that sense of freedom we all had as children, that feeling that if we just swung high enough, we could fly.
